At Facemoji Keyboard, a challenge in 2024 was to find a target niche. This was our first micro-influencer project, where I was given a budget of $300. Utilizing this, I was able to
Target our new target niches (Aesthetic + Kpop Gen Z in America).
Outsource 6 micro-influencers who created over 12 videos total across 3 platforms: TikTok, Instagram, & Lemon8.
Lowered our CPM by 478%
Achieved over 400k views on TikTok, Instagram, etc.
Given a limited budget of $300, I focused on maximizing impact by strategically selecting micro-influencers within the aesthetic and K-pop communities, communities we previously identified as our users. I identified creators with high engagement rates rather than just follower count, ensuring our content resonated with an audience that naturally aligned with Facemoji Keyboard's brand. By leveraging organic-style content and trending formats, we optimized for virality while keeping costs low.
To further amplify results, I gave our influencers highly specific scripts and requirements for each user and a VIP code to ensure they were able to create the most tailored and high quality content possible. Additionally, I used performance-based metrics to refine our approach in real-time, reallocating resources to creators who delivered the best engagement.

Conclusion
This experiment validated the Aesthetic + K-pop niche as a key audience for Facemoji Keyboard, proving that a hyper-targeted micro-influencer strategy could drive high engagement at a fraction of the cost. By lowering our CPM by 478% and securing over 400K views across TikTok and Instagram, we demonstrated that small-scale influencer marketing could yield substantial returns. This success set the foundation for future influencer collaborations with a more refined targeting approach.
